What is Blue Light?


Blue light, like other colors of visible light, is all around you. The sun emits blue light. So do fluorescent and incandescent light bulbs. We are are exposed to more blue light than ever because of computer and laptop screens, flat-screen televisions, cell phones, and tablets all use LED technologies with high amounts of blue light. 

Some blue light can be beneficial during the day because it can boost alertness and elevate your mood. However, with the rise of artificial blue light emitted from our digital screens, our bodies are being exposed to a surplus of harmful digital blue light. A surplus that can disturb our sleep patterns, cause eyestrain and sometimes produce headaches.
